Website Title: R.G. Whitmore Graphic Designer
A Little About Me
I've been a Graphic Designer since graduating college in 1991 from West Virginia University's College of Creative Arts. While there, I studied under the founders of that graphics program, Cliff Harvey and Eve Faulkes. Cliff held a degree from Minneapolis College of Art and Design, while Eve's was from Rhode Island School of Design (RISD).

Since then, I've lived and worked in several states including Alaska, Hawaii, and New Mexico. In those years, I've accumulated significant and unique work experience in a variety of roles such as Graphic Artist, Advertising Manager, and Exhibit Designer.

I currently work full-time for a state-funded college and have been brushing up on my web design skills. I'm finding it super exciting to learn new techniques for responsive web design using Figma and Webflow.

My Hobbies
Over the years, I've expressed my creativity in many different ways. I've explored stained glass, edge-lit acrylic lighting, CNC wood carving, laser engraving, 3D printing, fused glass, and more. In 2009, I purchased a 35 watt Epilog laser engraver and began making decorative nightlights. While living in Hawaii, I also used the laser to make Koa wood earrings.

Recently, while experimenting with sublimation printing, I tried fusing ink into laser-cut acrylic with the use of a heat press. That allowed me to make full-color acrylic nightlights. While I've enjoyed all of those creative outlets, lately I've been focusing my attention on learning and using new techniques for web design.
